Assemblages 12/16/13
We learned about the artist Louise Nevelson while working on this projects. It was a nice, easy process for the students to transition from the very technical work that they did on their grid drawings into the still life we are doing next. Louise Nevelson was known fro her found object assemblages. We tied in Monochromatic Color as well by having each student pick one color as their theme. They then had to create a background out of Paint, Colored Pencil, Marker, Chalk, Oil Pastel, Crayon, etc. using only tints and shades of that HUE. They were then asked to bring in found objects of that HUE as well, to be glued down onto their background. Here are some of the works in progress!
