The Sculpture Garden at Hastings Middle School is created entirely by 7th grade students! Every student has the opportunity to create a 3-D sculpture for extra credit during the trimester they have art. The Sculpture Garden is in the courtyard behind the Art rooms, and can be seen from the Cafeteria hallway and the Raider Reading room as well.
How to get EXTRA CREDIT:
Make a sculpture for our outdoor sculpture garden. It needs to be at least 3 feet tall and have a very sturdy flat base or a way to be pushed into the ground so it will stand. Your sculpture must be made from materials that will stand up to the weather, such as metal, plastic, or stone. Your sculpture will be outside in rain, wind, and snow. You can use any materials; recycling is an EXCELLENT idea! You must find the materials and assemble them before your sculpture is brought to school. Your sculpture will stay in the sculpture garden until it begins to fall apart. You can earn up to 40 Extra Credit points with this project.
